This month, our featured Developer is just that, a developer. Meet Erik Storli – an army of one cranking away building killer apps like iLlumination US – Universal Flashlight. We spoke with Erik to get some insight into what he does and what inspires him.
When was your company founded?
Haven't founded a company yet. Maybe I will, maybe I should. My first lines of code for the iPhone was written in January 2009.
· What inspired your company to develop apps and get into this space initially?
Programming is something I enjoy doing when I'm bored. After a long day at work, I can just sit down in the couch and trust that Objective-C can entertain me for a couple of hours :)
· What is your company background in mobile?
Have no background at all. Started my programming career on the iPhone-platform, and I don't regret it.
· How big is your team?
Hehe. Only me. Nice to do things in my own tempo without having a team rely on me.
· How is your company funded?
Mostly ad revenue, but some sales too.
· What advice do you have for other developers?
Don't be afraid to release stuff for free. Ads is a great way to earn money. Not only is it easier to market a free product, but you can still earn money on it. Win/Win situation!
· Why did you choose to work with Greystripe?
Because I've heard good stuff about the ads that Greystripe can deliver. The highest CTR I've reached is over 11%, so Greystripe must be doing something right :-)
